IT IS IN THE I TWO INDUSTRIAL EMPLOYMENT DISTRICT.

UH, SO JUNK YARD DEFINED BY TOWN CODE 1 75 3.

THAT'S ANY LAND OR BUILDING USED FOR THE ABANDONMENT, STORAGE, KEEPING, COLLECTING OR BAILING OF PAPER RAGS, SCRAP METAL, AND OTHER SCRAPS OR DISCARDED MATERIALS OR FOR THE ABANDONMENT, DEMOLITION, DISMANTLING STORAGE, OR SALVAGING OF AUTOMOBILES OR OTHER VEHICLES, NOT IN RUNNING CONDITION MACHINERY OR PARTS THEREOF.

THE TERM JUNKYARD SHALL BE INCLUDE THE TERM AUTOMOBILE GRAVEYARD, WHICH SHALL BE ANY LOT OR PLACE WHICH IS EXPOSED TO THE WEATHER UPON WHICH MORE THAN THREE MOTOR VEHICLES OF ANY KIND INCAPABLE OF BEING OPERATED ARE PLACED.

AND THAT DOES, AS I SAID, REQUIRES A SPECIAL USE PERMIT.

THE AREA OUTLINED IN RED, THERE IS A PORTION OF THE PROPERTY, APPROXIMATELY SIX ACRES THAT THE APPLICANT WOULD LIKE TO USE OFF OF 5 0 8 KENDRICK LANE FOR SAID JUNKYARD.

UH, THERE'S THE AERIAL VIEW, UH, THERE OF THE FORMER OLD VIRGINIA COMPANY IN THE BUILDING THERE AT THE FRONT ALONG THE RAILROAD TRACKS.

AND THE AREA AGAIN, THERE IS HIGHLIGHTED IN YELLOW ON THE AERIAL VIEW OF THE MAP.

UH, THE PROPERTY IS, UH, THERE FOR NEXT TO THE RIVER.

AS YOU CAN SEE, WE HAD QUESTIONS AT THE WORK SESSION ABOUT THIS.

UM, AND THERE'S THE FLOOD PLAIN.

SO THE DARK BLUE IS IN THE A E ZONE, UH, WHICH FORMALLY WAS CALLED THE 100 YEAR FLOOD PLAIN.

AND THE LIGHT BLUE IS IN WHAT WE CALL, UH, FORMERLY CALLED THE FUP A HUNDRED YEAR FLOOD PLAIN.

UH, SO THE DARK BLUES, THE 1% OF ANNUAL FLOODING, UH, FORMERLY, LIKE I SAID, CALLED THE, UH, 100 YEAR FLOOD PLAIN.

SO A PORTION OF THE AREA OUTLINED FOR THE SIX ACRES IS IN THE FLOODPLAIN.

UH, THAT'S THE, UH, MOST CURRENT AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHY WE HAVE WITH, UH, THE TREES REMOVED.

UH, THERE YOU CAN SEE SOME DIRT EXPOSED

AND THEN THERE'S OTHER LINES.

THERE ARE THE CONTOURS.

THE CONTOURS, UH, IS A ELEVATION ABOVE SEA LEVEL.

AND YOU CAN SEE THERE ON THE, UH, LEFT PART WHERE WE HAVE THE DARK BLUE WITH THOSE CONTOURS, CONTOURS THAT FORM A V.

UH, USUALLY IT REPRESENTS A VALLEY.

SO THE WATER WOULD DRAIN IF I CAN GET, UH, MAYBE NOT.

SO THE WATER WOULD DRAIN FOLLOWING THE CONTOURS WOULD DRAIN FROM HERE FOLLOWING THE BE DOWN TO THE RIVER.

AND THESE ARE CONTOUR LINES.

SAME ELEVATION GO AROUND THE PROPERTY.

SO THE WATER WOULD DRAIN THIS DIRECTION AND PERPENDICULAR TO A CONTOUR MINE.

SO SOME WATER WOULD GO THIS WAY AND SOME WATER WOULD GO IN THAT DIRECTION OR TO THE CONTOUR LINES, UH, THAT WAS SUBMITTED BY THE, UH, APPLICANT SHOWING THE CONTOUR LINES.

THERE.

YOU CAN SEE ON THE NORTH PART WHERE THOSE CONTOUR LINES ARE VERY CLOSE TOGETHER.

THAT REPRESENTS THE STEEPER THE SLOPE.

AND THEN YOU CAN SEE THEY'RE IN THE MIDDLE IN THIS AREA HERE WHERE THE V IS FORMED.

SO THAT FORMS A VALLEY WHERE WATER WOULD DRAIN FROM HERE DOWN THIS DIRECTION AND DOWN INTO THE RIVER.

WATER HERE WOULD FLOW PERPENDICULAR TO THE LINE, MEANING IT GOES NORTH INTO HERE WHERE IT'S VERY STEEP AND GOES INTO A DRAINAGE DITCH HERE ON THE NORTH END OF THE PROPERTY.

AND WATER HERE WOULD FOLLOW 90 DEGREES OF THE LINE GOING IN THIS DIRECTION.

SO THERE IS A VALLEY HERE ON THE PROPERTY IN A VERY STEEP AREA JUST NORTH OF IT HERE, WHERE THESE CONTOUR LINES ARE EXTREMELY CLOSE TOGETHER, FORMING A REAL STEEP SLOPE THAT GOES INTO THIS DRAINAGE DITCH.

UH, YOU HAD QUESTIONS ABOUT THAT LAST TIME.

SO WE PUT TOGETHER A LITTLE BIT OF TO GO OVER THAT.

SO A LITTLE BIT ON THE CONTOUR LINES.

EACH LINE REPRESENTS ITS, UH, SAME ELEVATION.

UH, SO YOU CAN SEE HERE AT THE TOP ON THE LEFT THAT WOULD BE A HIGH POINT OR A NULL AND CLOSER THE LINES GET TOGETHER IS STEEPER TO GROUND REPRESENTED HERE.

THEN WHEN YOU GET DOWN TO THE BOTTOM, WHEN YOU HAVE CONTOUR LINES THAT ARE SPACED FURTHER APART, THAT MEANS FLATTER OF THE GROUND AND KIND OF REPRESENTED YOU WANT LIKE A VISUAL OF YOUR HAND.

THERE'S THE HIGH POINT WATER WOULD FLOW THIS WAY AND DOWN THIS WAY.

AND AS IT GETS DOWN HERE WHERE IT'S FLATTER, UH, IT'S THE SLOPE IS LESS STEEP.

UH, SO THAT AREA DOES HAVE SOME, UH, QUESTIONABLE SLOPES IF YOU WOULD, WITH THE V FORMING HERE, COUNTING OFF WATER OFF THE SITE, GOING IN THIS DIRECTION TO THE RIVER AND ALSO HERE INTO THIS DRAINAGE DITCH.

SO YOU DID HAVE SOME CONCERNS, UH, AT THE WORK SESSION.

UH, YOU FORMED, UH, YOU'RE WELL AWARE IT WAS IN YOUR PACKET.

AND THEN THAT PIPE WAS EXTENDED AND THAT OUTFLOW THAT CONTINUES, UH, THERE, SO THERE WAS A SAME COAL A COUPLE YEARS AGO THAT, THAT WAS ON THE PROPERTY, UH, FROM WATER STORM AND WATER RUNOFF.

THE PIPE WAS LENGTHENED, UH, BUT IT STILL DISSIPATES TOWARD

UH, WHILE WAS THIS DRAINAGE AREA HERE DOWN THE RIVER, THIS COUNTY, YOU SEE THE STAR LINE ON, THAT'S THE, UH, DRAIN PIT THAT GOES INTO THE RIVER, THE AREA WHERE THE SLOPE.

UM, BUT I DO AGREE THAT, UM, APPROVAL AT THIS POINT IS PROBABLY NOT SUITABLE, PROBABLY NOT PRUDENT AT THIS POINT IN TIME.

WE HAD FOUR NEW DWELLING UNITS BRINGING THE, THIS YEAR'S TOTAL TO FIVE.

UM, WE HAD 15 NEW CODE ENFORCEMENT CASES OPENED, UM, 18 INSPECTIONS OR RE-INSPECTIONS.

UM, AND THEN WHERE ARE WE ON OH EIGHT NEW BUSINESS LICENSES, BRINGING THIS YEAR'S TOTAL TO 42 BUSINESS LICENSES.

UM, AND THEN RIGHT OF WAY UTILIZATIONS.

WE HAD SEVEN.

SO WE HAD, UM, 204 WALK-INS TO PLANNING AND ZONING, BRINGING OUR TOTAL UP TO 956 FOR THE YEAR TO DATE, SO.
