LAST SUMMER, I COMPLETED THE RECERTIFICATION CLASS FOR THE COMMISSIONERS AT A COST OF WELL OVER A THOUSAND DOLLARS AT THE TOWN'S EXPENSE. MY TERM ON THIS COMMISSION EXPIRES THIS AUGUST. SEA'S, UM, REZONING REQUEST, THE COMMISSION HAS VOTED UNANIMOUSLY ON ALL ISSUES BROUGHT BEFORE IT OTHER THAN ONE ABSTENTION ON ONE VOTE FOR AN INORDINANCE TO CHANGE, UH, REQUESTED BY COUNSEL TO THINK I EXERT ANY INFLUENCE OVER THE COMMISSION IS JUST NOT TRUE. WE HAD 407, UM, CODE ENFORCEMENT CASES AND WE HAD 36 LAND USE APPLICATIONS. SO THOSE COULD BE YOUR SUVS, UM, FOR SHORT TERM RENTALS, THINGS LIKE THAT. UM, AND WE HAD FOUR, UH, CODE AMENDMENTS, UM, AND WE ISSUED 148 BUSINESS LICENSES LAST YEAR. UM, WE HAD 32 NEW DWELLING UNITS, UH, DOWN FROM FIVE FROM THE PREVIOUS YEAR. UM, BUT AS YOU CAN SEE, OUR PERMIT ISSUANCE IS UP AND OUR CODE CASES ARE PRETTY CLOSE TO EVEN WITH 2022. AND THIS YEAR WE'VE ALSO HAD, I THINK I BELIEVE 37 PROPERTY MAINTENANCE, UM, INSPECTIONS AND REPORTS THAT HAVE BEEN SENT OUT. AND STAFF IS NOW WORKING ON THE ZONING ORDINANCE AND WORKING ON A CIP PLAN. SO MY HOPE WOULD BE TO HAVE THOSE, THE ZONING ORDINANCE TO THIS BODY WITHIN THE NEXT TWO TO THREE MONTHS, START GETTING IT THROUGH WORK SESSIONS.
