WE'RE STILL WAITING FOR BUSHONG CONTRACT AND GET YOUR MATERIAL ORDERED.

UM, OUR PLANS IS TO START EARLY OF JANUARY OF 2023.

UM, THE JOHN MARSHALL HIGHWAY, WE HAVE GOT THE, UH, SIGNED CONTRACT BACK FROM, UH, BOWMAN GRIFFITH THAT'S GONNA DO THE JOHN MARSHALL ORDER LINE, AND HE CURRENTLY HAS MATERIALS ON ORDER.

UM, SO WE'RE HOPING MAYBE FEBRUARY, MARCH WE CAN START ON THAT ONE.

UH, BOTH THE PRV VAULTS, THE RICHMOND ROAD AND THE ROBIN HOOD LANE ARE BOTH ON ORDER.

UM, THE ROBIN HOOD LANE WAS THE ONE THAT WE'RE STILL WAITING FOR THE, UH, ROAD GRADE HATCH.

UM, WE'RE HOPING HERE TO END OF THIS MO UH, END OF DECEMBER TO HAVE THAT IN.

THEY'RE WORKING WITH TWO DIFFERENT PROPERTY OWNERS, UH, FOR LAY DOWN YARDS, UH, TO STORE THE MATERIALS, SO THEY'LL HAVE THAT READY WHEN IT COMES.

UM, THE PAVING SECONDARY AND PRIMARY PAVING, UM, WE HAVE TWO LITTLE PIECES LEFT.

WE HAVE, UH, THE FINISH THIS WEEK AND ALL THE PAVING WILL BE DONE FOR, FOR FALL.

UM, THAT'LL COMPLETE THE 24 STREETS.

UM, THE LINE PAINTERS SHOWED UP TODAY, UM, BUT THEIR TRUCK, UH, BROKE DOWN, SO THEY'RE GONNA COME BACK TOMORROW AND START.

SO THIS WEEK AND NEXT WEEK THEY'LL BE DOING THE LINE PAINTING, UM, RULE AND COMMERCE SIXTH STREET, UM, AND ALL THOSE REMOUNTS, PUTTING ALL THOSE BACK.

UM, THE ANTI LITTER COUNCIL, WE TALKED ABOUT THE, UH, TWO, UH, TRASH CANS OF 96 GALLON BEAR PROOF TRASH CANS FOR THE LURAY BOAT LANDING.

UM, THAT PROJECT WAS, UH, JUST OVER 4.9 MILLION.

UM, AND THAT WAS FOR THE 25,000 FEET OF, UH, C I P P LINING.

AND THEN, UH, THE REPLACEMENT 192 SEWER LATERS.

UM, COUPLE NEW THINGS WE HAVEN'T TALKED ABOUT.

I THOUGHT WE KIND OF TALK ABOUT A LITTLE BIT SOME OF THE VDO PROJECTS.

UM, BACK YEARS AGO, UM, ROBERT HAD APPLIED FOR THE NORTH SHANDO AVENUE PROJECT LIGHTING.

UM, AND THEN THEY'LL START WITH PUBLIC INPUT RIGHT AWAY ACQUISITIONS FOR ANYTHING LIKE THAT.

UM, AND THAT SMART SCALE PROJECT WAS, UH, 3,241,000 FOR THE SOUTH STREET IMPROVEMENTS.

THERE'S ALSO A REHABILITATION ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY ON THAT ROAD.

AND DESPITE ITS CLOSED PROXIMITY TO TOWN, THERE'S NO SAFE OPTION TO GET TO TOWN OTHER THAN BY VEHICLE.

UH, SOMETHING ELSE VERY MUCH WORTH POINTING OUT IS THAT THAT SECTION OF ROAD BRIDGES TWO VERY POPULAR AND EXTENSIVELY SECTIONS OF THE GREENWAY, UH, BY WALKERS, JOGGERS, CYCLISTS, MOTHERS AND FATHERS PUSHING STROLLERS AND SENIOR CITIZENS USING THE GREENWAY TO ITS CURRENT POTENTIAL.

BUT AGAIN, THIS SECTION OF ROAD, WHICH IS USED IN ALL SCENARIOS, FORCES PEDESTRIANS INTO THE ROAD WITH VEHICLE TRAFFIC, UM, ADDRESSING THIS ISSUE.

UH, AT THIS POINT IN TIME, THE SPECIFIC POINT IN TIME IS, UH, ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT BECAUSE IT TOUCHES ON NUMEROUS POINTS THAT ARE ALREADY IN THE CURRENT VERSION OF THE TOWN'S COMPREHENSIVE PLAN THAT'S COMING TOGETHER, UH, WHICH I BELIEVE IS SLATED FOR FINAL REVISION VERY SOON.

UH, I SPOKE BRIEFLY WITH, UM, WITH A PLANNING DIRECT TOWN PLANNING DIRECT THEORY, AND THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT MANAGER FOR THE ADVISORY ORGANIZATION HELPING, UH, PUT TOGETHER THE COMP PLAN AT A, A RECENT OPEN HOUSE, UM, PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC AND COMMUNITY CONNECTIVITY.

UH, TO MY UNDERSTANDING, YOUR POINTS OF FOCUS FOR FUTURE INVESTMENT, UH, THINGS THAT, UH, SUCH AS CONNECT

THE FUTURE RAIL TRAIL TRAILHEAD, UH, UP BY, I I CAN'T REMEMBER SPECIFICALLY ON THE NORTH END OF TOWN, UM, IN, UH, IMPROVING ACCESS FOR ALL TOWN AND COUNTY CITIZENS OF ALL DEMOGRAPHICS TO HAVE BETTER ACCESS TO TOWN DESPITE POSSIBLY NOT HAVING VEHICLE ACCESS.

UH, IT SEEMS THAT GIVEN THE POPULAR GREENWAY, UH, THE POPULAR GREENWAY AND ALREADY LARGE AMOUNTS OF PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC ALONG SKYLINE HIGH AND SKYLINE MIDDLE AND EASTHAM PARK, AND THE TENDENCY OF PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC TO CONNECT THOSE, UH, THOSE SECTIONS VIA WEST CREER, IT SEEMS THAT THE SIMPLE THAT SIMPLY EXTENDING THE GREENWAY FROM EAST CREER TO ALL, ALL THE WAY DOWN TO LERAY AVENUE, ARE YOU GUYS FAMILIAR WITH THOSE TWO SECTIONS, UM, WOULD BE A WIN-WIN SCENARIO FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF SOLVING A GAPING HOLE AND PEDESTRIAN SAFETY, ALONG WITH, UH, UH, COMPLEMENTING THE INVESTMENT THAT'S ALREADY BEING MADE BY THE TOWN AND COUNTY TO EXTEND AND COMMUNITY CONNECTIVITY.

UM, I WOULD LIKE TO EMPHASIZE THAT WHAT DEFINES THE TERM GREENWAY IS THAT IT'S A MUCH SAFER STRUCTURE THAN THE STANDARD SIDEWALK, AND THAT IT HAS A RAISED CURB AND WIDER SAFE PASSAGE FOR STUDENTS AND PEOPLE WITH MOBILITY ISSUES.

OF COURSE, FUNDING AND OWNERSHIP RIGHT AWAY IS ALWAYS A CONCERN.

AND MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT PROPERTY OF SKYLINE HIGH ON THE SIDE OF SKYLINE HIGH SCHOOL, UH, ON THAT SIDE OF WEST CREER IS OWNED BY THE NATIONAL PARK.

I WOULD ASSUME THAT THAT WOULD BE THE SIDE THAT WOULD MAKE THE MOST SENSE FROM AN ENGINEERING AND DRAINAGE STANDPOINT, YOU KNOW, FROM A LAYMAN'S ASSESSMENT.

UH, BUT KNOWING THAT IT'S PROPERTY PARK OF THE PROPERTY THAT MIGHT ACTUALLY WORK IN OUR ADVANTAGE FROM, UH, UH, UM, FROM A PUBLIC GOOD KIND OF STANDPOINT AND APPEAL IN THAT WAY.

UM, REGARDING THE COST, THERE'S MORE THAN A FEW GRANT PROGRAMS AVAILABLE SPECIFICALLY FOR, AND I'M DOING AIR QUOTES CUZ I BELIEVE THIS IS THE NAME OF IT.

SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL PROGRAMS OR, UM, AN AVAILABLE TAP FUND T TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVE PROGRAM, WHICH I UNDERSTAND TO BE YOUR REIMBURSEMENT, UM, AFTER INVESTMENT PROGRAM THROUGH VDOT, WHICH I THINK IS 70 30.
