WHILE THOSE OF US HERE IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY MAY BE UNABLE TO BURP FENCE SOME DEVELOPMENT THAT IS ALREADY GOING TO DESTROY THE VAST WILDLIFE HABITAT. ALL RESIDENTS HERE IN THE SURROUNDING NEIGHBORHOOD ARE COMPLETELY OPPOSED TO THE ADDITION OF ANY HIGH DENSITY BUILDING. ALTHOUGH NOT EVERYONE WAS ABLE TO ATTEND TONIGHT. UM, AND I, UH, I WASN'T AT THE PLANNING COMMISSION MEETINGS, BUT MY UNDERSTANDING FROM OUR PLANNING DIRECTOR WAS THAT, UM, THE R THREE CONSIDERATION WAS TAKEN OR THE R THREE REQUESTS WAS TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION, UH, BECAUSE OF THE ADJACENT R THREE RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT THAT IS NEXT TO THE PROPOSED CONVERSION FROM OUR ONE TO OUR THREE RESIDENTIAL AREA. NUMBER ONE, AND THEN NUMBER TWO, UM, IT GOT, IT GOT TRACTION WHEN THE DEVELOPER OFFERED A PROFFER TO, UM, RESTRICT THE R THREE, THE R THREE DISTRICT, UH, THIS PARCEL TO, UM, ONLY SINGLE FAMILY HOMES, UH, AND TO DUPLEX, UM, TAKEN OUT ALL, UM, ALL HIGH DENSITY HOUSING FOR THE PROPERTY, THUS RECLASSIFYING THE R THREE R PROFFERING THAT THE R THREE WAS GOING TO BE, UH, REDUCED FROM A HIGH DENSITY TO A LOW MODERATE DENSITY CLASSIFICATION. SO, UM, I THINK THAT I'M NOT SPEAKING ON BEHALF OF OUR PLANNING COMMISSION, BUT, UM, UH, MY UNDERSTANDING WHEN THIS WAS BROUGHT FORWARD IS THAT IT HAD CLEARED THE PLANNING COMMISSION HURDLES AND THE PUBLIC HEARINGS THERE THAT THE CONCERN WAS BROUGHT FORWARD ON THE HIGH DENSITY HOUSING. SO THEY OFFERED THE PROFFER TO REDUCE, TO RESTRICT THE PROPERTY DIFFERENTLY THAN OTHER OUR THREE DISTRICTS. UM, AND I WILL READ OR READ IT AND I'LL SUMMARIZE IT, BUT IN THE PACKET, THAT'S OPEN TO THE PUBLIC HERE TONIGHT. UM, IT TALKS ABOUT THE TWO DIFFERENT ZONING DISTRICTS AND THEN THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION ON PAGE FIVE, WHERE IT TALKS ABOUT, UM, THE SINGLE FAMILY DWELLINGS VERSUS THE SINGLE FAMILY, JULIAN OF TO THE CLASSIFICATION OF OUR THREE AND WHAT THE, UH, WHAT THE PROFFER INTEL'S TO REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF HOUSING IN THERE. UM, AND THEN THE PROFFERS THAT WERE OFFERED, MAINTAIN [00:25:01] MORE OF THE SINGLE FAMILY DWELLING IN THAT AREA. UM, PLANNING COMMISSION MOVED IT FORWARD, UM, UH, WITH AN OPINION TO ACCEPT IT. UM, AND THAT'S WHY I MADE THE MOTION TO, TO, TO, TO ADVANCE IT TONIGHT AND BRING IT UP. ANYONE ELSE? I GUESS MY QUESTION WAS, UM, ONE OF THE THINGS THAT MS. SO, UH, MY WIFE AND I ARE, HAD THE PLEASURE TO STROLL MAIN STREET FOR 30 MINUTES. AND I GOT TO SAY IT WAS REALLY NICE IF YOU HAVEN'T TAKEN A WALK DOWN MAIN STREET IN THE EVENING, UM, IN AWHILE, PLEASE DO SO BECAUSE WE HAVE A LOT OF RESTAURANTS OPENING UP. UM, AND WE ALSO GET TO SEE THE WORK THAT IS COMING TO FRUITION IN OUR DOWNTOWN. SO I JUST WANTED TO MAKE A PUBLIC PITCH TO ENCOURAGE PEOPLE, TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE BEAUTIFUL SPRING NIGHTS AND SEE IF YOU CAN'T BE A PATRON TO ONE OF THOSE WONDERFUL PLACES IN OUR DOWNTOWN.
